Birni, Giridih, Jharkhand | Harit Sansar by Sansar Green
In a major step towards promoting sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation, Harit Sansar, the flagship green initiative of Sansar Green, successfully organised a Natural Farming Awareness and Farmers’ Training Programme at Birni Block in Giridih District, Jharkhand. The event witnessed the participation of hundreds of farmers from Birni and nearby villages, who came together to explore practical solutions for sustainable farming, soil restoration, and climate-resilient agriculture.
The programme was graced by Mr. Rajeev Singh, Founder of Sansar Green and the visionary behind the Harit Sansar Movement, who attended as the Chief Guest. His inspiring address focused on transforming Indian agriculture through natural farming while encouraging farmers to become active partners in protecting the environment.
Addressing the gathering, Rajeev Singh said that agriculture is not only about increasing crop production but also about preserving the natural resources that support farming. He highlighted that excessive dependence on chemical inputs has affected soil fertility, biodiversity, and water quality, making it essential to adopt sustainable and nature-friendly agricultural practices.
“The future of farming lies in healthy soil, healthy farmers, and a healthy environment. Every farmer has the power to create positive change by embracing natural farming and planting trees that will benefit generations to come,” he said.
One of the key highlights of the programme was the distribution of 700 mango saplings under the Harit Sansar Plantation Campaign. The saplings were distributed free of cost among participating farmers with the objective of promoting agroforestry, increasing green cover, improving biodiversity, and creating an additional long-term source of income through fruit cultivation. Farmers were encouraged to care for the saplings and inspire others in their communities to participate in plantation drives.
The technical sessions introduced farmers to practical aspects of natural farming, including soil health improvement, microbial and organic inputs, composting techniques, water conservation, integrated nutrient management, and environmentally responsible crop production. The discussions emphasized reducing cultivation costs while improving productivity through sustainable methods.
Throughout the programme, farmers actively participated in interactive discussions, shared their field experiences, and sought guidance on implementing natural farming practices in their own villages. The event served as an important platform for knowledge exchange, encouraging innovation while preserving traditional agricultural wisdom.
Rajeev Singh also presented the vision of the Harit Sansar Movement, explaining that the initiative extends beyond plantation drives. The movement aims to build environmentally conscious rural communities by promoting natural farming, biodiversity conservation, water conservation, climate awareness, and community participation. He encouraged every participant to become a “Green Ambassador” by motivating family members, neighbours, and fellow farmers to adopt sustainable agricultural practices and plant more trees.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to promote natural farming, protect soil health, conserve natural resources, and actively participate in the Harit Sansar Plantation Campaign. Farmers expressed their commitment to planting and nurturing the distributed mango saplings while spreading awareness about sustainable agriculture within their villages.
Through initiatives like these, Sansar Green continues to strengthen its commitment to building a greener and more sustainable India. By combining farmer education, environmental stewardship, and large-scale plantation campaigns, Harit Sansar is creating a movement that empowers rural communities while contributing to long-term ecological and economic prosperity.
