Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar | 27 May 2026

In a highly interactive and inspiring session, Rajeev Singh, noted agriculture entrepreneur, environmentalist, sustainability advocate, and founder of several agriculture and ecological initiatives, visited Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour on 27 May 2026 and interacted with students of the 2025–2029 B.Sc. Agriculture batch.

The session focused on the future of agriculture, emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, climate resilience, environmental stewardship, and the critical role that young agricultural professionals will play in transforming India’s rural economy.

Students enthusiastically participated in discussions on modern farming systems, agri-startups, sustainable agriculture, bio-input industries, environmental restoration, and career opportunities beyond conventional agricultural employment.

Agriculture Needs Innovators, Not Just Degree Holders

Addressing the students, Rajeev Singh emphasized that agriculture is entering a new era driven by technology, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and climate adaptation.

He encouraged students to move beyond traditional career aspirations and develop expertise in emerging areas such as:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven agriculture
  • Precision farming and drone technology
  • Biofertilizers and biopesticides
  • Organic and regenerative agriculture
  • Protected cultivation and hydroponics
  • Carbon farming and climate-smart agriculture
  • Agri-business management and value chain development
  • Rural entrepreneurship and agri-startups
  • Environmental restoration and natural resource management

He highlighted that future agricultural leaders must combine scientific knowledge, innovation, environmental responsibility, and entrepreneurial thinking to solve the challenges faced by farmers and society.

Learning from the Ground: Experience Matters

Sharing experiences from his own journey, Rajeev Singh stressed that practical exposure, field engagement, and real-world problem solving are equally important as academic excellence.

He encouraged students to actively engage with farmers, participate in research projects, develop innovative solutions, and explore entrepreneurship opportunities while pursuing their studies.

According to him, agriculture graduates have immense opportunities today in agri-tech, sustainable farming, food processing, exports, environmental services, rural development, and agricultural input industries.

Rajeev Singh: Champion of Sustainability and the Harit Sansar Plantation Movement

Rajeev Singh is widely recognized for his contributions to sustainable agriculture, ecological restoration, environmental conservation, and rural development.

He is the driving force behind multiple initiatives including Sansar Green, Harit Sansar, SIARD, Erwon, Sovata, Agreno, Rimi Garden, Sansar Organics, and Sansar Agro, which work toward promoting sustainable farming systems, bio-input technologies, environmental awareness, and farmer empowerment.

One of his most impactful initiatives is the Harit Sansar Plantation Movement, a large-scale environmental campaign dedicated to increasing green cover, restoring degraded landscapes, promoting biodiversity conservation, and encouraging community participation in tree plantation activities.

Through the Harit Sansar movement, Rajeev Singh has inspired thousands of individuals, farmers, institutions, students, and volunteers to actively participate in environmental protection and ecological restoration efforts. The initiative advocates the philosophy that environmental sustainability and agricultural prosperity must go hand in hand for the long-term well-being of future generations.

His vision integrates agriculture, ecology, climate action, and rural livelihoods, creating a holistic model for sustainable development.

Building the Future of Indian Agriculture

During the interactive question-and-answer session, students discussed topics such as startup funding, career planning, higher education, emerging agricultural technologies, sustainability challenges, and opportunities in the private sector.

Rajeev Singh urged students to become innovators, entrepreneurs, and environmental stewards who can contribute meaningfully to India’s agricultural transformation.

He emphasized that the future of Indian agriculture will be shaped by professionals who are not only technically skilled but also committed to sustainability, environmental protection, and farmer welfare.

Gandey, Giridih | 24 May 2026:

A farmer awareness and training program was organized in the mango orchard region of Gandey in Giridih district, Jharkhand, where environmentalist and agriculture expert Rajeev Singh interacted with local farmers on issues related to soil health, plant nutrition, and sustainable farming practices.

During the interaction, farmers expressed concerns regarding low fruit production in mango plants despite healthy vegetative growth. Rajeev Singh visited the orchard fields and discussed the importance of soil quality, balanced nutrients, irrigation management, organic matter, and proper plant care for improving fruiting and long-term orchard productivity.

He explained that healthy soil plays a crucial role in plant growth and fruit development. According to him, maintaining soil biological activity, moisture balance, and essential micronutrients is necessary for achieving better agricultural output through sustainable farming methods.

As part of the field study, Sonali Sharma, Lab In-Charge at SIARD Research Institute, collected soil samples from the orchard area for scientific analysis to identify nutrient deficiencies and soil-related issues affecting plant health.

During the program, CA Rakesh Kumar also addressed farmers on agricultural marketing, branding, and value addition. He guided farmers on how digital platforms, local market networks, and farmer producer groups can help improve farm income and market access.

The program witnessed active participation from local farmers, who showed interest in adopting natural farming, soil restoration practices, and sustainable agriculture techniques.

Harit Sansar and SIARD Research Institute stated that they will continue working with farming communities on ecological restoration, soil improvement, plantation drives, water conservation, and rural development initiatives across Jharkhand.

“Healthy soil, healthy plants, and prosperous farmers form the foundation of a sustainable and self-reliant future,” Rajeev Singh said.
